Unlike most attorneys in this country who expect clients to come to their in-town elaborately furnished offices, by providing in-home
consultations, HJWT attorneys are able to sit in these women's kitchens, where they are comfortable, analyze their legal situations,
and discuss their options. They talk with them in a language they understand and explain in detail what will happen in the courtroom.
This not only alleviates the embarrassment they experience in a wealthy attorney's office, but it helps alleviate the fear they have
of facing their abuser. It enables HJWT attorneys to obtain the information they need to present their legal issues in court.
 Sitting with a client in their home allows HJWT attorney's to answer many questions and needs a client may have, including:   Does she and
her children have food?Do they have heat?Do they have clothes?Do
they have the furniture and/or appliances they need?If a woman or her children have any of the above needs then the HJWT staff locate the resources to fulfill these needs through local agencies. HJWT also accepts donations of furniture, appliances, dishes, linens, clothing, and food for distribution to clients as needed.
